Do I want to poop this party? Of course not, but just be warned…

November 30th, 2007 by theexpert | Comments Off

I make my apologies here in advance.

Now don't get me wrong. After what we've just witnessed in these last two games it's perfectly understandable that everybody is jumping through hoops at what has remained an excellent turnaround from the Canaries.

Glenn Roeder's appointment has certainly put a rocket up the backsides of certain players and his judgement in the signing of the loan players cannot be questioned.

And accordingly City supporters …

'Tiny' happy to wait and see what next week brings. For now, it's tin hats and flak jackets

November 30th, 2007 by Latest News | Comments Off

New City hero Martin 'Tiny' Taylor was certainly all smiles at Colney this morning.

Whether it was worth even guessing what that said about the 28-year-old's future intentions is something of a moot point.

The easiest – and most likely – conclusion is that until the on-loan Blues centre-half actually hears what new Birmingham City boss Alex McLeish has to say he is genuinely none the wiser as to whether he will still be in Norfolk come Christmas.

City fit for the trip to Stoke. Including Master Evans. Master Martin take note.

November 30th, 2007 by Latest News | Comments Off

City boss Glenn Roeder looks set to be able to name a unchanged line-up for the third successive game this weekend after the Canaries returned from their long haul north to Blackpool on Tuesday night with nothing more to worry about than the unusual sight of big, broad smiles all round.

The mid-week 3-1 win over the Seasiders – coupled to last Saturday's 2-0 home win over Coventry City – has left the Norfolk side bottom only on goal difference. Pick up even a point away at the …

Winning? God, it felt good. And my Ready Brek glow of victory warmed others too…

November 30th, 2007 by Kevin Baldwin | Comments Off

I must say, we thoroughly enjoyed the BBC's Autumnwatch programmes in our house.

It's always enjoyable to watch a small furry creature going about its business in its natural environment, though there was far more to the season than just Bill Oddie.

My three-year-old daughter particularly enjoyed looking for things on PC Plum's Spotters' Club checklist.  (Who's PC Plum? He's a character in Balamory. What's the story in Balamory? …

Do we sense a corner finally being turned? Well, maybe. Just maybe…

November 29th, 2007 by theexpert | Comments Off

Of course there is always the risk of going completely overboard at times like this, but after witnessing City enjoy successive victories in their last two matches and particularly the manner in which they were achieved, it wouldn't be unrealistic to suggest that a corner might indeed have been turned in this 2007-08 campaign.

Against Coventry at Carrow Road on Saturday City delivered everything that the supporters have been so desperate to see this season and were full value for …

Roeder may have to toe diplomatic line if City really are interested in Pools hot-shot

November 29th, 2007 by Latest News | Comments Off

City boss Glenn Roeder may yet decide he needs to bite his lip as and when Paul Stephenson's appointment officially goes through after the Canaries today found themselves linked to Hartlepool youngster James Brown.

Despite being spotted sat next to Roeder in the directors box at Carrow Road on Saturday and someone bearing a remarkable resemblance to the 39-year-old Hartlepool youth coach handing out the bibs and cones at Bloomfield Road on Tuesday night, Stephenson's formal …

Opportunity knocks for Evans to stay till summer as Eriksson maps out his City future

November 29th, 2007 by Latest News | Comments Off

Manchester City boss Sven Goran Eriksson has left the door wide open for the Canaries to agree a further, extended loan deal until the end of the season for free-scoring youngster Ched Evans.

The 18-year-old – fresh from plundering a hat-trick in that startling Welsh Under-21 win against France – arrived at Colney as the fourth of Glenn Roeder's loan signings last week.

Initially the youngster was only pencilled in to stay in Norfolk until January 1 at which point, in …

First one bus, then another… And in amidst it all a 'Tiny' ray of hope that we must all cling to.

November 28th, 2007 by Stanley | Comments Off

So just like waiting for a bus in the pouring rain, you have to wait an eternity for a City win just for it to be followed immediately by another.

A few more 'six pointers' like this and our relegation worries will soon be a distant memory, although you always suspect that the winding road we tread as City supporters will never be quite that straight forward.

Nevertheless it was just such a joy to get an away win. The landscape of the season has changed so much in …

Dion shrugs off two more goals for his collection as he hands out the praise elsewhere.

November 28th, 2007 by Latest News | Comments Off

Two-goal City hero Dion Dublin was passing out the compliments at Bloomfield Road last night – with the back four and the new manager, in particular, getting a big pat on the back.

Oh, and his long-time pal Darren Huckerby who rolled back the years to their famed strike partnership at Coventry City as he rolled the ball across into Dublin's path for his injury-time second of the night.

Glenn Roeder first as the new City chief puts te Canaries right back in amongst the …

Forget the two front teeth. All Glenn wants for Christmas is one 'Tiny' Taylor

November 28th, 2007 by Latest News | Comments Off

Ask City boss Glenn Roeder what he'd like Santa to slip in his sack this Christmas and you'll get a very simple answer – a 'Tiny' Taylor, please.

For while the ageless Dion Dublin will rightly gain many a-headline this morning for his two-goal haul in Norwich's first away win of the season at Blackpool last night, it was the growing impact of the on-loan Birmingham City centre-half that is fast coming to dominate people's thoughts.

Not least for …
