The Canaries today found themselves heavily linked with Shrewsbury's free-scoring target man Grant Holt as the summer rumour mill began to whirr into life.
City boss Bryan Gunn has already found himself linked to two, out-of-contract centre-halves – ex-Hartlepool skipper Michael Nelson and MK Dons defender Miguel Angel Llera.
Aged 28 and 29-years-old respectively, both fit the club's current needs to a 'T' in that neither will come with a transfer fee …

Some big questions and, as ever, no easy answers…
In fact, on almost each and every issue the three Stans had their own, different opinions.
Who will be doing what with their season ticket rebate; should the board have given Bryan Gunn a second bite at the managerial cherry; and what of the board themselves? Did the right heads roll?
In many ways, this 30-minute conversation summed up the divided mood of the Canary Nation – a Nation already …

To claim or not to claim? That is the question on many Canary fans' lips this week as the club made a heartfelt plea for supporters to pump their season ticket rebate back into the club.
There will always be two sides to this argument. And, at the end of the day, no one is right and no one is wrong. It is up to the individual. But the club have to be careful.

City boss Bryan Gunn this morning sketched out the briefest of details as to who might tick his transfer box this summer – and insisted again that only leaders of men need apply.
“Bosses,” was the word that the Canary manager used in the wake of that devastating farewell to the Championship at The Valley. Some three weeks on and Gunn is still on the prowl for the kind of big and determined characters that were all-but non-existent at Charlton.
“People who lead by example …

City No2 Ian Butterworth today laid out his own thoughts on what it takes to succeed in the lower leagues of English football.
And after the better part of a decade pounding that particular, unforgiving beat, he at least can bring that experience to bear on next season's League One proceedings – not to mention the small matter of this summer's transfer policy.
For the players that City boss Bryan Gunn ear-marks for the Class of 09-10 will have to be as strong in …

Norwich City Independent Supporters Association and the Canaries today effectively came to an armed truce as the distrust and the division prompted by the club's relegation to League One continued to make for a poisonous summer.
After last week's 'emergency' meeting at St Andrew's Hall attended by some 400 fed-up City fans, NCISA today issued a public Press statement in which it laid out its latest thinking.
In particular, it urged all season ticket …

At the moment of putting first finger to keyboard it is precisely two weeks since Stan witnessed one of the most pathetic capitulations he's had the misfortune to witness in all his years as City fan? and let's face it we've all watched a few. Ultimately it was a fittingly wretched end to a hideous, and at times, very dark season
Such was the nature of our ultimate slump into the bowels of the Third Division that a sort of fuggy disbelief has hung in the air since that …
