“It was a fabulous response after Wednesday night,” beamed Canary boss Paul Lambert. “And it might, just might, keep us in the league.”
“A couple of years ago, we were playing the likes of Yeovil and Stockport, no disrespect to them, and now we’re competing with Chelsea which is just incredible,” said a delighted Paul Lambert this afternoon.
“Burnley are going well in the Championship but we’ve moved on [since the last time we played them],” said Lambert after today’s FA Cup success. “The Premier League does that to teams and you’ve got to step up to the plate.”
“We can’t just concentrate on one player as they have people all over the pitch who can change the game in an instant but we’re looking forward to it. We know it’ll be tough but we’ve worked hard to get here and we’ll enjoy it – especially against the top teams.”
“The way he man-manages and tells it like it is gets the best of them,” said the Canary boss. “Even if you have a squad of world class players – which Harry does – you’ve still got to get the best out of them and he does that.”
“Those players in the dressing room have been colossal,” boss Paul Lambert said afterwards. “We’ve got to remember what we’re up against here but we’re thriving on it; we’re enjoying it and I’m proud of them.”
“He’s at least three yards outside of the box,” said Lambert on the game-changing incident. “How he gave that, I do not know. It’s hard enough him getting sent off for it but the initial contact was outside.”
“Norwich defended well and pulled off some good blocks, and they will be disappointed with the result, but not so much with the performance from the team,” said Cardiff chief Dave Jones.
“The referee said that it was his opinion but in my opinion, he got the penalty decision wrong,” said Norwich chief Paul Lambert, speaking shortly after today’s reverse in south Wales. “Sometimes you get them and sometimes you don’t.”
“Success breeds success and when you’ve got that mentality in the dressing room, you believe you can turn anything around,” said the former Norwich favourite. “Even if it’s 1-0 or 2-0 to the other team, you still think you’ve got a chance to get back into it.”
