Time for old Ferret to put his hands up. It's one he missed; this one slipped under the radar.
Because just as everyone was fretting about Fozzy's latest injury blow, so there was Granty busily snapping up an experienced defender while no-one else was looking.
On-loan till the end of the season, too. So not a penny spent either.
Step forward the versatile Mark Birch – signed on-loan last week from SPL new-comers Gretna and there for all too see on the SkySports.com transfer centre as the Canaries' latest transfer swoop.
Mark Birch. On-loan to Norwich. For the season. From Gretna.
The tough-tackling 30-year-old can play at either right-back or centre-half. Out of favour at Gretna, he last played a game for the Borders' side in September, 2006, before going out on loan for three months to the Conference.
He was, however, a key member of Gretna's back-to-back title winning side as they stormed up the Scottish league before this month's debut in the SPL.
“It's an area I've been wanting to strengthen,” said the boss. “Mark can play at full back or in the centre so I've added to my options in that area.”
In fairness, whilst his arrival might come as a complete surprise to many, he did learn his trade the hard way with Carlisle United for several seasons before making the short switch across the border in the summer of 2003.
Likewise, with Andy Hughes off to join little Dennis at Leeds and Jurgen back at Ajax, the Norwich chief only has Scottish Under-19 youngster Andrew Cave-Brown for cover down that right-hand side.
Hence last week's ultra-quiet swoop for Norwich's new No6…
Ah.
That's the No6 shirt that Darren Huckerby wears.
Mmm.
Birch, formerly an apprentice at Stoke City, first cut his competitive teeth for Northwich Victoria…
…to where he returned this summer and made a highly-impressive debut in their pre-season friendly clash with North-West neighbours Rochdale…
“It's an area I've been wanting to strengthen,” said Northwich Victoria boss Neal Redfearn. “Mark can play at full back or in the centre so I've added to my options in that area.”
Ah.
Not Norwich, then. Northwich.
Oops. Sorry. As you were.
It's all quiet on the defender front…
