This evening's referee Colin Webster this morning gave Gigg Lane the 'OK' for tonight's FA Cup third round replay – it's game on!
The Shakers' home had been inundated with heavy rain overnight – forcing the managerless, League Two strugglers to call a 12.15pm pitch inspection.
With City officials at the ground confirming that the pitch – albeit ?sodden and squelchy? in places – was playable, the fear remains that a further heavy downpour between now and this evening's 7.45pm kick-off could cause more problems.
A postponement is the last thing anyone in Norfolk would want given the fact that after this weekend's home clash with Leicester City, the Canaries already face back-to-back away trips to Southampton in the space of four days – should, of course, they manage to find a way beyond Bury.
Hence Canary boss Glenn Roeder will be anxiously scanning the Manchester skies in the hope that the worst of the weather has moved east.
As ever, full match report to follow on the final whistle this evening…
