When no-one is saying anything, that's when old Ferret can really have some fun.
So for as long as our Andrew and Sharon opt to keep mum as to why they packed their bags this week, then all any of us can do is guess…
But let's guess with a brain; work things through.
For most of this summer, those two have been going through every financial nook and crannie of that club with a fine tooth comb; squeezing the margins; working the numbers like they've never been worked before. For busy people with Central Trust to run and two young kids to feed, there was a big time commitment there.
Likewise, when it came to Cullum's summer arrival at the gates of the city, it was our Andrew out on point; talking to the Towergate people; getting a position sorted; a 'Back off…' deal done.
In neither case does that smell of a couple whose interest in the football club is starting to wane; quite the opposite. In fact, for most of this summer they've been up to their necks in it. The fact that they have already pumped 500,000 of another 2 million into the club again smacks of a couple who were looking long-term. And looking long-term quite recently too.
Now, maybe something sudden and dramatic in their lives outside of Carrow Road has prompted a sudden change of heart.
Family commitments; sudden work pressures back at the Central Trust ranch.
Perhaps.
But if they arrived last summer with a view to getting their feet under the table for a year and then 'taking a view', perhaps that's exactly what they've done.
They've worked the numbers; seen the margins… and made an offer.
Are they an interested party? Clearly. They've still got a 2.5 million 'loan' sat in there somewhere. And they're no fools; they've got the Taverham card to lay on the table.
But what if that offer wasn't accepted? Then what do you do? Shrug your shoulders, sit there and wait to see who else the club's current owners can find to buy your expected 'inheritance'?
Or do you make an offer, give the principal shareholders 14 days to respond and when it's 'No, we're talking to people elsewhere…' do you walk?
You know where we are, the offer still stands… In the meantime, we're not saying anything.
Wild, late night stab in the dark; but kind of makes sense. Kind of.
