Norwich City will step back into the big time next season with a new kit straight off the catwalks of Milan – or rather, Parma.
For today the Canaries unveiled their new look for the 2011-2012 season – one which involves the Norfolk club turning on the style courtesy of Italian sportswear giants, Errea.
“Errea impressed us with their ability to incorporate leading fashion design into a technically excellent product that our fans and players will be proud to wear,” said Will Hoy, the club’s head of sales and marketing as the Canaries officially unveiled the 2011-2012 kit this morning.
The Parma-based company have, it was claimed, successfully married that famed Italian tailoring with a ‘performance enhancing fabric’ – one that should feel and look right at home in the top flight of English football.
The new partnership is timed to perfection as the Canaries storm back into the Premier League on the back of last season’s promotion triumph.
And with the level of interest in the fate of the Norfolk club – both close to home and in the furthest-flung corners of the footballing globe – so the man from Errea was suitably delighted to have bagged a new customer.
“Having worked so closely with Norwich over the past few months, with the entire clothing range being designed together and the final choice always being made by the club, we feel that this is the start of a partnership that will last for many years,” said Fabrizio Taddei, Errea’s sales director.
“Once the fans see the new ‘Creato in Italia’ range we are sure they will be delighted not only with the styling and quality, but also with the fact that the clothing is produced in the EU and carries the unique Oeko-Tex, non-toxic textiles guarantee,” he added.
Supporters can pre-order the new kit now, before it actually goes on sale at the end of June.
