Right, you lot, this has gone on too long. I’m calling a halt to it all now. All this negativity swirling round the place. It’s time for a mild diversion…
– Are you an NCFC fan?
– Do you know your stuff?
– Are you prepared to prove it?
If you answered ‘yes’ to all three, perhaps you’re ready to take this Entry Level Quiz about The Canaries!
Yes? Go on! In the words of Captain Flash, ‘Let’s do-o-o it!!’
How did you rate? Answers below…

13 out of 15 for me. I thought b was the answer for question 11, and b again for question 14. Must be getting old!
Thanks Jim. There’s always a couple of tricky ones!
Hi Chris – as you say a little bit of much needed light-heartedness.
You got me on one. I was in London throughout the 70s and most of the 80s so I went for Ken Brown over Bondy for “magic”. D’oh!
I’m still in the Justin category though 🙂
Nice one.
Thanks Martin. Ken Brown was pretty magic too overseeing a wonderful time for the club. The only manager to achieve consistently more, arguably, was Dave Stringer and they followed each other! A fantastic decade through the 80s into the 90s.
Thanks, Chris – nice diversion!
Like Jim, I went for b at Question 11. Otherwise a Justin Fash performance, to my relief.
Nice one, Stewart. Getting a ‘Fash’ is definitely the target, rather than a (tut) ‘Coney’.
Me too
A little light relief ? Good idea and if it gets too much sometimes rejoice in the fact that you don’t support Wigan, Bury, Fort William or the pride of Suffolk.
Funnily enough Fort William is my second club. First saw them at Claggan park in 2005. Even have a shirt and scarf! I was hoping they would improve to match NCFC’s performances, alas the reverse has happened…
13 for me too; another one who went for b in q11, and barely understanding the question in no.7 guessed wrong (never been into films, last saw one in about 1988).
Nice diversion, thanks
Meant to add, shouldn’t the awards start with 15 – Martin Peters, world beater?
I didn’t get #2 and horrifically, I forgot about Pukki’s hat trick (somehow my memory had it as 2 goals).
Good job!
On Q5 can you confirm it was blur and white quartered shirts, not that I ever saw them in real life , just in old black and white photos.
Hi Bernie. Canaries.co.uk confirms in the early years City wore ‘blue and white halved shirts with white shorts and called themselves the Citizens’.
Historicalkits.co.uk show the original two kits (1903-07) to be halved blue and white, not dissimilar to Blackburn’s current shirts. It’s a good site to show how the Canaries’ kits have evolved over the years.
Hope this helps.
14/15. Went for b on Q11
Exactly the same for me.
Well done, everyone. Thanks for participating! Hopefully there’s some more light-hearted stuff to come in the not too distant future. Let’s hope for a spirited performance tomorrow before we can finally shut the lid on this stinker of a season.
